Background information for teachers

This is an opportunity to use the learning from the week to make a real difference to the school’s contribution to climate change, by gathering information about current school energy use and developing an action plan. This would be a legacy that the pupils could leave for the school, as well as providing ideas that they could take on to their secondary schools. It would contribute to the Government’s Year of Action on Sustainable Development for Schools (2006-7) following the consultation on the Sustainable Schools Strategy published in May 2006 and could help the school towards winning an Eco-schools award.
