How do I place an order?

  • Browse and select the item(s) you want (further details of the items are available by clicking on the item itself). Click on ‘Add to basket’.

You can view the basket by clicking on the ‘Basket’ at any time (see top right-hand corner of the page). This shows how many items you have added so far.

To buy items from different departments, click on the ‘Shop Home’ link on the right hand side of the gift pages, select the relevant departments, browse the items and ‘Add to basket’ as above. Your basket can contain items from each department within Oxfam’s Online Shop – Oxfam Unwrapped, Second-hand Store and the Ethical Collection.

Within the ‘Basket’, you can increase the quantities of Oxfam Unwrapped and the Ethical Collection products.

For Oxfam Unwrapped gifts, you can choose whether the money is spent on that particular gift, or across all of Oxfam’s work. Tick the box next to each gift to allow us to use that money where it’s needed most.

You can also save your basket for a later time (for Oxfam Unwrapped gifts only) or ‘Continue shopping’ for more gifts using the buttons at the bottom.

  • When you ‘Proceed to check out’ you will be asked to sign in, register, or continue without registration. It’s a good idea to register, particularly if you’re sending to multiple delivery addresses, as you can then save these addresses for the next time you come shopping with Oxfam! If you’re a School, Group or Company there is a separate registration page for you, just click on the link at the bottom of the screen.

  • You will then be asked to complete your billing address. On the following screen you then select a delivery address for each of the gifts you are buying (it defaults to your own address, if you don’t select or add another address). You can add new addresses at this stage, if you don’t already have them in your address book.

If your order contains Oxfam Unwrapped gifts, you can ‘Choose your card’ to decide how you want this to be sent. Here you can choose to send an e-card, a gift card and magnet (and DVD gift box for gifts over £50), or both. You can also choose the design of the card, and add a personal message. Additionally, if you’re choosing to have the card sent to your recipient, you can specify a date to go on the envelope to indicate when they should open it.

Alternatively, you can select ‘I don't want to send a gift card or an Ecard’. This means you won’t receive anything at all, including the DVD gift box. Or, if you are ordering several of the same gift and only want to receive one gift card, magnet and where appropriate DVD, then choose ‘I don't want to send a gift card or an Ecard’ for all the gifts except one.

  • Once you’ve chosen a card for each Oxfam Unwrapped gift you have in your basket, and selected a delivery address for each of your items, then ‘Continue’ again and you will be asked for your ‘Payment details’.

You can then check your order, edit any details if necessary, read Oxfam’s terms and conditions, and when you’re sure everything is fine, click on ‘Place Order’.

  • When the order has been processed, you’ll be presented with an order number and you can print your confirmation page. You’ll also be sent a confirmation email. At this stage, if you didn’t create an account at the start, you’ll be given the opportunity again to do so, to make your next visit a whole lot quicker!

How do I know if my order has gone through?

A printable confirmation page will appear once your order has gone through, detailing your order and giving you a web order number and Worldpay identification number.

You should also receive an immediate email confirmation (as long as you entered your email address correctly!), which will detail your order. And if you created an account, you will be able to see your order history within the ‘My Account’ pages.

Can I view my order history?

Yes, if you signed in or registered before you placed your order. You can view this by going through ‘My Account’.

What should I do if I get an error message?

If you receive an error message to say that your order has not been placed, then please try again a little later. Alternatively, you can call one of our friendly team on 0300 200 1252 (Monday to Friday – 9am to 6pm) to place the order.

What should I do if I chose the wrong gift/entered the wrong address/wrong message?

It is very difficult to change your order once it has been placed. You will need to phone our friendly team on 0300 200 1252 (Monday to Friday – 9am to 6pm) to discuss if there is anything they can do to help in your situation.

How do I query an order that I have placed?

If you have a query about an existing order, please contact us.

Can I get more than one card and magnet per gift I buy?

Unfortunately not. If we allowed people to do this it would have an impact on costs and could also start to devalue the gifts in the catalogue. However, we do offer a good range of lower priced gifts, so why not purchase several smaller items instead?

If you are a group or school or company which has done some fundraising, we will send you out a certificate too, which can be displayed in a prominent place as a reminder of what you have helped to achieve.

For companies who would like to buy a gift over £300 and purchase extra cards, please call 0300 200 1253 (Monday to Friday – 9am to 6pm) to discuss the options.

I don’t want to receive the card and magnet and/or DVD gift box, what do I need to do?

At the Delivery and personalisation stage, you can ‘Remove card’, or click on ‘Choose a card’ and select the ‘I don't want to send a gift card or an Ecard. Alternatively, you could select to send an ‘e-card only’. If you were entitled to a DVD (because your gift costs £50 or more), choosing either of these options will also mean you won’t get the DVD and gift box.

There is not currently an option to receive the card and magnet, but not the DVD and gift box. This is because they are contained in the same package. If you are ordering several of the same gift and only want to receive one card and magnet (and DVD if your gifts are over £50), you can select to receive ‘no card and no e-card’ for all the gifts except one.

For my Oxfam Unwrapped gift I was offered the option for Oxfam to use my money for 'something else' - what is this and why do you offer it?

A significant number of our customers enjoy the fun and unusual nature of Oxfam Unwrapped gifts, but want to maximise the value of their gift. By offering this option we enable those people to allow Oxfam to spend the money on something other than the gift they choose, if necessary. This flexibility helps us because the needs of poor communities change. For instance, we may need to respond to a natural disaster, like a flood or earthquake, or we might need more funding for particular programmes like HIV/AIDS.

However, we are grateful for the support of all of our customers and we do understand if you'd prefer not to take this option. All of our gifts make a real difference to real people all over the world.

My Oxfam Unwrapped gift costs £48. Can I top up by £2 and get the DVD?

Sorry – this isn’t possible at the moment, but we are looking at making this possible in the future. If you’re really keen to get the DVD, the £50 gifts we have are:

  • School council
  • Care for a vulnerable child
  • Busy bees
  • Donkey
  • Goat couple
