Mya-Rose Craig has been birding (birdwatching) all her life. She is the founder of Black2Nature, a charity for equality in nature for Visible Minority Ethnic (VME) people.
She appeared with her family in a BBC Four documentary, Twitchers: A Very British Obsession.
Her book Birdgirl is available to buy now. It’s about birding trips around the world and how they saved her and her family from the impact of her mum’s mental illness.
Her first book is called We Have a Dream. It amplifies the voices of 30 young environmentalists of colour from around the globe.
She also has a children’s picture book, Migration, coming out in 2023 about the migration journeys of different birds migrating along different migration routes.
She was nominated in the Discover Award Category of the British Book Awards 2022 which she is really proud of.
She studies Human, Social and Political Sciences at Johns College at Cambridge University.
