Welcome to The Fair Pour
This is a pub with a difference. Here, the price of your pint reflects the two-tier world we live in.
On the 21st January 2025, for one day only, Oxfam opened a pub with a difference, where the prices were based on individual wealth.
Are you a billionaire?
- For billionaires: The price of a drink was a cool £1million.
- For everyone else, there was a minimum price of £3 and all proceeds went to Oxfam. (Customers could even add a tip if they thought they could contribute more).
If £1million seems steep for a pint – it’s actually a drop in the ocean for the UK’s billionaires. In fact, it’s less than half a per cent of their average wealth increase in 2024 alone. Our latest inequality report, Takers Not Makers, shows that billionaire wealth last year grew three times faster than the year before and that most wealth is taken not earned.
We believe it’s time to tax the super-rich, and that together we can create a fairer world. Agree? Take action right now.
Time for a fair pour
Tackling inequality starts with making those at the top pay their fair share. It's time to tax the rich.

Billionaire wealth surges
Global billionaire wealth grew by $2 trillion in 2024, three times faster than the year before, equivalent to roughly $5.7 billion a day. The world is now on track to see five trillionaires within a decade.
