Our message to the Foreign Secretary David Lammy

"I refuse to stand by and watch Palestinian and Israeli civilians pay the price for political failure. Humanity must be shown to those caught up in this violence and humanitarian catastrophe. Every life matters equally, and we will not be divided on this.

You must do everything in your power to push for an immediate ceasefire, to allow humanitarian aid for people facing intolerable suffering. The siege of Gaza must be stopped, and water, food and fuel allowed in. We ask you to work to secure the release of hostages held in Gaza.

A path to peace and justice for all, that includes a fair future for both Palestinian and Israeli people, is the only way forward. Your government and other world leaders must work towards a de-escalation of violence now."

We are calling on our government to speak up and act

Horrific and relentless attacks on Gaza by the Israeli military have killed tens of thousands of people. Now the violence has intensified in Lebanon and other parts of the Middle East, forcing over a million people from their homes.

This is yet another heartbreaking escalation of conflict that has spanned decades, and the result of a catastrophic failure from world leaders to secure a ceasefire.

People who survive the violence in Gaza are being starved, forcibly displaced and deliberately deprived of everything they need to survive – water, food, medical help and shelter.

This is an act of collective punishment and is against international law. Combined with the indiscriminate killing of civilians, there is an undeniable risk of genocide right now in Gaza.

We must speak out and say that every life — Palestinian, Israeli, Lebanese and those of other nationalities — should be valued and treated with humanity. And that we refuse to be divided or discouraged in our call for lasting peace and justice.

Join us as we demand an immediate and permanent ceasefire now. It’s the only way to stop the death and destruction, get more aid to those who urgently need it, and get the hostages released safely.
