March your way - Terms and Conditions

Thank you for fundraising for Oxfam GB by taking part in the March Your Way Challenge. These terms and conditions ensure that we can support all participants effectively while raising vital funds to overcome poverty and injustice worldwide.

Event Participation

March Your Way is a flexible virtual challenge where participants complete 31 miles in March by walking, wheeling, running, swimming, or hiking, either solo or in teams. Participants can choose how they complete their miles, whether one per day, all at once, or over multiple sessions.

  • By taking part, you confirm that you are physically able to participate and have consulted a healthcare professional if you have any medical conditions or concerns.
  • Upon registration, you agree to receive regular communications related to your participation, including updates, motivational messages, and suggested activities.
  • Participation is at your own risk. Oxfam GB will not be held responsible for any injury or illness resulting from your involvement. You should tailor activities to your fitness level and abilities.
  • You agree to wear appropriate clothing and footwear for your chosen activity and weather conditions, and to have a plan in place for emergencies.
  • If participating outdoors, you must ensure your routes are public, accessible, and comply with the Countryside Code.
  • You must be 18 years or older on the date you register for the challenge. Participants under 18 must have a parent or guardian complete the registration process and manage the fundraising page on their behalf.

Fundraising

The March Your Way Challenge is a fundraising event solely for Oxfam GB (registered charity in England and Wales 202918 and Scotland SC039042).

  • You agree to raise a minimum of £150 in sponsorship via an online fundraising page.
  • Ambitious fundraisers are encouraged to set higher targets if they wish.
  • Your fundraising target excludes any additional funds that may be reclaimed by Oxfam GB through Gift Aid.
  • If you decide to withdraw from the challenge, you must inform your donors and offer refunds if they do not wish for their sponsorship money to still be donated to Oxfam GB.
  • Participants who reach the £150 fundraising target will receive a medal as a token of appreciation.

Existing donations to Oxfam: Any donations you already make to Oxfam cannot be included in your fundraising total.

Gift Aid: We cannot include the amount raised through Gift Aid in your fundraising total. However, please encourage your sponsors to Gift Aid their donations where possible – this can add an extra 25p for every £1 donated, at no extra cost to them.

Tracking Progress

  • Participants can track their miles using Strava or manually record their progress.
  • Strava integration allows participants to join the Oxfam Strava group to connect with others and stay motivated.
  • Progress updates and motivational content will be shared in a dedicated Facebook group.
