BBC Radio 6 Shaun Keaveny presents (V)Oxjam 2020: a virtual music festival raising funds for Oxfam’s Christmas Appeal

The virtual line-up will be presented by BBC Radio 6 Music host Shaun Keaveny and will include an exclusive set from Andy Bell where he’ll cover Ride songs and material from his new solo album, as well as performances from world renowned West African female world music super group Les Amazones d’Afrique and hip-hop reggae energy collective The Tribe who were confirmed for main stage at NASS festival this year.

This one-a-kind event led by Oxfam’s community volunteers shines a spotlight on some of the best local talent the UK has to offer, providing grassroots artists a platform for national exposure during a year where musicians have been especially impacted by festival closures and live performance lockdowns.

Host BBC Radio 6’s Shaun Keaveny said: “I’m incredibly excited to be hosting Oxfam’s virtual festival (V)Oxjam, not only will the funds raised go towards helping some of the world’s poorest people but it will highlight promising new and emerging grassroots artists by giving them a platform to showcase their work. It’s a cause that I’m proud to be involved with and happy to get behind at what is already a difficult time for musicians and bands.”

Tickets cost £5.00 and are on sale from www.wegottickets.com/oxjam with all proceeds donated to Oxfam’s Christmas fundraising appeal ‘Together Against Hunger’ to help some of the poorest families around the world which have been hit hardest by the pandemic.

In keeping with the UK government’s latest lockdown measures, the virtual festival will include a mix of pre-recorded content and socially distanced live content.
