Dragon’s Den’s Deborah Meaden, Radio 1 DJ Vick Hope and Sex Education actor George Robinson will be hitting the catwalk as part of a star-studded line-up in a stunning Oxfam show on the opening day of London Fashion Week.

Style for Change will take centre stage at art gallery, Ambika P3, on Thursday 12 September, at 7pm. The show will be the ultimate display of sustainable fashion with every catwalk look created from pre-loved clothing and styled by pioneer of thrifting, stylist Bay Garnett.

Amongst other stars and models taking to the catwalk will be actor Robert Sheehan, Saturdays singer Frankie Bridge, renowned designer Katharine Hamnett and Scottish supermodel, Eunice Olumide.

The show – which calls for people to ‘Dress for the world they want, for everyone, everywhere’ – is part of Oxfam’s Second Hand September campaign, which is now in its sixth year. The campaign has helped thousands to shop more sustainably by encouraging people to shop pre-loved and help reduce the impact of the fashion industry on our planet.

Oxfam fashion raises vital funds to help tackle poverty and injustice across the globe.

Vinted - whose mission is to make second-hand first choice worldwide – is proudly partnering with Oxfam for the fashion show. Every outfit shown on the catwalk will be available for purchase on Oxfam's online ‘wardrobe’ shop on Vinted after the show throughout September.

Stylist Bay Garnett said: “People are starting to realise finally that second-hand fashion a great way forward. We know that it is better for the planet and it raises money where it is needed most. Style for Change will highlight that second-hand is for everyone.”

Actor George Robinson said: “It means a lot to be involved in Oxfam’s Style for Change show this year, as a part of London Fashion Week. We know the fashion industry has a huge impact on our planet and we need to embrace change and rethink our attitude towards our clothes. By wearing second-hand, you can make a difference to both the planet and people across the globe who are affected most by the climate crisis. Tomorrow’s show spotlights just how brilliant, and needed, sustainable fashion is.”

Singer, Frankie Bridge, said: “I’m so excited to be walking in Oxfam’s Style for Change show, this year, at London Fashion Week. It was brilliant to work with Bay Garnett on styling and put together these looks, all sourced from Oxfam, and some from Vinted. I’m looking forward to being part of a such a memorable show and moment at London Fashion Week!"

Supermodel and actress Eunice Olumide said: “Given the enormous impact of the fashion industry on our planet, we need to work together to style ourselves for change to make the world a better, more sustainable place. We have a chance to make a real difference by stepping away from over-consumption and learning to reuse and appreciate the clothes we have that are already in existence. Oxfam’s show Style for Change will prove that second-hand fashion is the stylish, sustainable, poverty-fighting alternative.”

Kehinde Brown, Oxfam’s Strategic Communications Lead, is directing the fashion show. She said: “Style for Change will be the ultimate celebration of sustainable fashion. The show will spotlight the power of fashion for good and imprint why second-hand is the sustainable, stylish and poverty-fighting alternative. Knowing the enormous impact of the fashion industry on our planet, there has never been a more important time to rethink the way we view second-hand fashion and to style for real change. Every single look you will see on the catwalk is second-hand and will highlight the sheer array of brilliant, beautiful looks you can find in our stores. This is about fashion that makes a difference.”

Marianne Gybels, Vinted’s Senior Director of Sustainability, said: “We are incredibly excited to partner with Oxfam for the Style for Change fashion show as part of Second Hand September. This partnership does not only celebrate second-hand fashion but emphasises its potential to drive social and environmental impact. Vinted and Oxfam have a shared commitment to make second-hand fashion first choice. By showcasing an array of stylish and sustainable pre-loved outfits, we hope to inspire more people to choose second-hand instead of new.”

People can support Oxfam’s Style for Change fashion show, as part of Second Hand September, by shopping the catwalk collection from London Fashion Week on Oxfam’s online ‘wardrobe’ shop with Vinted. All money raised will go towards tackling poverty and inequality across the globe. The wardrobe will go live after the show, here.
