Speaking ahead of Monday’s Channel 4 Dispatches investigation into the UK’s involvement in the conflict in Yemen, Emma Fanning, Oxfam’s Head of Humanitarian Policy said:

“The UK government has serious questions to answer about its role in fuelling the war in Yemen following this investigation.

“It’s complicit in the creation of a man made humanitarian disaster – the worst in the world today – with countless civilians killed and millions of people forced to flee their homes, without enough to eat or at risk from sickness and disease.

“The UK government needs to suspend arms transfers to Saudi Arabia and all of the combatants in Yemen until there is no longer a clear risk that arms might be used to commit serious violations or grave breaches of international human rights and/or humanitarian law.”
